Internship Opening
We are opening an internship position to contribute to a joint project with the University of Dundee. The selected applicant will have a background in Physics-Chemistry-Materials or Pharma/biomedicine (any single of these would do, as long as the person is highly motivated to learn enough about the others to contribute to the project).
The internship will be actively involved in a interdisciplinary project aiming at designing hybrid material for a biomedical application. The work associated with the internship will focus on the preparation of magnetic nanoparticles by a chemical pathway, the characterisation of their physical properties and their insertion into polymers produced by colleagues in Chemistry. It will also involve literature surveys as well as the preparation of progress reports.
The internship would start in January/February, if needed we could financially contribute to the internship to assist with the accommodation cost, as long as the student works at least 6 months on the project. This project could also be extended.
If interested graduates could contact Dr André directly including a CV (highlighting past achievements, and including the contact details of 2 academic/professional referees) and a short motivation letter demonstrating their interest and background/education match with the topic of the internship. The subject of the email should be "st Andrews Internship opening". The applicants should be EU/UK nationals, as well as having demonstrated being deadline and achievement oriented.
